Duluth Eskimos

Duluth, Minnesota hosted an NFL team originally named the Kelleys (after their sponsor the Kelley-Duluth Hardware Store) from 1923 to 1925, and then the Eskimos (officially Ernie Nevers' Eskimos after their star player) from 1926 to 1927.  After being a traveling team for most of their existence due to the harsh winters in northern Minnesota, the team withdrew from the League  after the 1927 season.  Owner Ole Haugsrud sold the franchise back to the NFL, and went on to become part owner of the Minnesota Vikings.
